Transcription
"5-nerved, upper 7-nerved. [illegible] Lemma, 7-nerved
(or more lemmas/glumes sometimes having an
extra nerve on one side) white edged, bidentate
at tops with rough awns from bot. teeth. Palea very
thin & transparent, green nerved & distinctly ciliate
on the 2 widely separated beaks., Feathery pubes at
stigmas below top ? many (in fact below middle
at this stage at least) which seems will be
sterile appendix to grain.) Stamens 3, no
sign of thenstem graduate to palea (BM. D.C.P. 11?)
Neither glumes or lemmas filled. Awns at this stage
erect. Cf. B. sterilis L. 4-18-30. (See 10-29-30
