Stems ? inflated rough (See 4-10-30 3-26-30 Cytinus Hypocistia L. Kn I +29, Baz 409 Box 227 Fl parasite on Citrus altidus. Lemma grey. 3 1/4 in high. St thick v fleshy with scales loosely overlapping, 3/4 x 1/2 in oval, obtuse, slightly red at tips. Flo indense heat-like spike at tip ? At the lower & 1 in long, the upper & 3 1/4 in. Floral bracts like bracts of red, a broad nut base ? fl v 2 narrower at sides, a little higher up on fl. Perianth cream colored, 4 parted. Stamens 10. In & flo a knobby ridged body (like stamens in appearance but sterile) at top of central column (vary ? & fl seems)-celled with large sticky masses of parietal placentae but no definite ovule found. Perhaps very small at this stage. In offl central column merely enlarged at base. Perhaps this is "stigma discoides".
