The fault line is precipitous and comes out to the shore of Cape Tourmente. It can be seen here for miles down the river. In part of it mostly the Odiorcere has been removed but 3 miles up from the cape there is much low farm land. At Les Entoulements Baedeker (p.61) states, earth- quakes occur and the shore has gone beneath the river. The town was moved to the top of the mountain. This place is 60 miles east of Quebec.
