Here the red beds are low in the shale series while in the Schist Gap are the Johnsglens Gap they are high up. However in both cases the red beds are high in the section. Possibly by crawling along the hill side one could find a contact but in all prob- ability it would not be satisfactory. As the railway track is very straight here I doubt if there can be more than 900 to 1000 feet Medina. On it rests the Salina. There is no Clinton or other Mississippian here. Along the wagon road I saw Salina from the ridge to the 3d house, a distance of 1/2 mile
