the lire. Repose at Carpenters
quarries now owned by Mr.
Damp. The horizon is the
"upper buff beds". Fossils very
few and not abundant.
In the afternoon started for
the quarries at Rockton Ill.
This place is but four miles S.
or W. of Beloit yet the limestone
is decidedly more compact than
