Sep 23 Spent the day in the creek at the Brick Kilns, walked quite a lot of coral. In the afternoon examined the collection of Mr. Murphy. He gave me some of the same fossils for which I am due to send to some Trilobite and Crawfordsville crinoids. In the evening called on Mr. Leary and examined his collection. He gave me a number of good things among them a fine Arthur- aeanthus for which I owe an to give him five species of Crawfsb- rille crinoids. Send him also a number of other good fossils. To Mr. Murphy that some of the common Norfolk Hamilton fossils, in addition to that mentioned above.
