Cretaceous of Europe and in of the Atlantic facies. The Cenor beds are separated by an uncon- formity from the basal beds of Dyssmry. Farther south the Cenor beds rest on the Triassic and on the Red beds of the Permian. The marine faunistic on which the Cenor beds of Dyssmy rest is of differ faunistic but not the higher fauna. Thus far it is not yet known that the Cenor beds are of Cretaceous age but may eventually be proven to be such. I have concluded not to go on the mother excursion. Mexico City Sep. 15 th Saturday. Called at the Instituto and taken charge of my baggage. In the afternoon looked about town and at 9.30 P.M. saw start of on the mother excursion. At 10.30 waited up to the Jacolo and at dawn saw the declaration of El Sitio (= Litu) by the President in front of the Palace and the Cathedral.
