shar plainly the way of a bed, On such a layer maybe seen cross marks of the spiller heaver and here and there a Lingula cerventa is caught part with ails around it. It is remarkable that these layers are or often mean left tide and got some strata to follow in to. About these shells which also have an conglomerate bands of almost lim rock are found more cross bedded sandstones. Probably less than 3 feet thick, see photographs. There was originally more Medina but how much is not determinable at this locality, In the afternoon after the rain visited the Kelly and saw the Rochester shale and later tried to seek contacts between the Clinton and Medina but failed. Mac Crute has a fine series of Stromatites from specimens 3/8 inch long of nearly 4 inches. Lockport is a nice good place to study the Silurian section from the standpoint of the section but is good to collect the faunas.
