Chynchnella pleioleura, Tentaculites elongatus,
Leptrevecia and bifurcated plications.
The fossils are originally calcareous but in
weathering become pseudomorphs just like the
Centrolene fossils.
The Glenerie passes over the head into the
Esopus grit layer of not less than 400 feet thick-
ess. Contact with the Onondaga was not
seen.
The farther east folds, the one in Rondout,
is broken and southward, the next one to the N is
sharply dipping to the NE and gently to the E. Thus
the next one over is in places a
sharp anticline and in other places its southern limb
jitches stuff to the NE.
Coming across the enormous ridge of Esopus
grit on the west of Esopus Creek one sees the
Esopus on the top of the belt gradually change
into the chloritic Onondaga. These beds are
more calcareous than the Esopus and has
a few scattering fossils. Most of them I could
not make out but saw Atrypa reticularis, Lep.
chombridalis? Strophodonta perplana? Strophodonta
one of the Polycharic grit forms. These beds are said
