Eugene, Oregon March 3. Thursday Spent most of the morning correcting my photo- graphic maps. Cashed my check for $270. Slept a part of the afternoon with Paul and Dodge talking over Julographics. Piff Smith gave me a lot of pamphlets on topography and geography of Oregon and those I looked through during the evening. Eugene Oregon March 4. Friday The geology of Oregon is still very little known, but what is known shows that its structure so far as the fault is concerned is not at all like California. All earthquakes in Oregon are of minor order showing that the vibrations come from elsewhere. Made some changes on my maps and at 11:10 A.M. started on the D.P.R.R. for Portland.
