Pal Alto Thursday Feb 17. Visited the Leland Stanford Junior Museum, a little of everything and not much of anything other than things immortalizing the Stanfords. The best are the paintings, several my large ones I consider American mountain landscapes -- Yosemite, Yem River and Shasta. These are wonderful pieces of realistic art. Also looked on the Arnold Collection of Geologic specimens of California. Often join collection and not at all what could have be fotten by a hand collector. Spent the afternoon with Prof. Smith. Had dinner in the evening at Mr. Robert Anderson's house. He used to work in rock- jewelry with Arnold. Has traveled all over the world from at Co. Is now doing private research work at the University. His father was Professor of English at Leland Stanford University, but is now retired. Rained morning the day and night.
