"Chicago Dec 26, 1926. Sunday.
In spite of starting over an hour late our arrival in town was Chicago = 7:05 A.M. & at my request to Madison this (462), sent a telegram to Torchfield that he had breakfast at the station. This is the new "Union" station, a very large and sumptuous affair, no money was spared anywhere in building it. Out to Madison on the Milwaukee-St Paul.
Left Chicago on M. St. Paul R.R. for Madison at 8 A.M. and got to Madison at 12:30. Torchfield met Lawson was at station, but we failed to see each other. Torch cut out to Torch field house one half an hour later he arrived.
In the afternoon Torchfield, Lawson, Drinkwater and I counted the ballots of the G.S.A. As usual my man was elected. Bybee got 13 maps.
Lots of ice on the ground and very fine cars and no fault to bad.
Found the Torchfields all well,"}
