after breakfast concluded to get on the Crawford trail to see
what I might see or the top of Mt Clinton.

The trail was built in 1819.
miles to the top of Mt Washington trail. I see no one for the
first half mile but before I get to the first mile sign direct
from over of the hotel - cell between 30 and 40 years ago.
He is to follow. At 8.30 we are at the first mile sign.
So far the trail is wide and easy. Then it narrows and
steps. We made the first mile of the ascent in a half
dose. The sign 1\1/2 miles are attained at 9 so that this 1/2
mile took us long as the previous mile. Between the two signs
I saw some glacial stones going directly down the trail.
The Original Spring Camp sign are found at 9.20. The
2 mile sign at 9.25 and the 2\1/2 miles one at 9.45. But
to the summit of Mt Clinton or up 3\1/4 miles at 10.8 m.

We are now out of the forest and on an Alpine me, but
clear me the wind from a pole, it is cold and the clouds
anchor a few hundred feet above us. Mt Pleasant to the
north is playing like sea, but Mt Washington (6298) in all
with clouds. To the south was a fair long distant view
as far as Mt Chocorua. As then over no use to soon
