Sep. 28-1909 Tuesday. Chicago Opened fairly the morning in the Chicago Acad. of Science in Lincoln Park. There is a basement on which the entrance stairs land. This first floor has a small central exhibition room, and one lift with lecture or cinema rooms on each side. On the back of the central room are the stairs are elevator to the main exhibition floor. The plan of this room occupies the entire building with 2 second floor gallery. Central windowed at an oblique pattern around the sides. [illegible] black space about 8". Window space about 5'. Between fire floor about 40" continues to 1' of ceiling. Height of corridor about 6'. Cases about flat lift. Piers between windows about 20 wide in midway (Could be made for all or always midway spaces). Central sky lift flat below, levelled above. Some
