March 5-98 Marshalltown Ia Arrived at 9.35 in the morning. Then called on the Le Grand Lumber Co and met Mr. Stuby He tells me he has another grindel slot large and better than those he sent us. Then he introduced me to Ch. R. J. One Bride who has a few Marshalltown crinoiids. The quarry is east five miles of this city. The brick and other large make available buildy work. The county court house and a church are just up- anample of what the rock can be used for. Immediately after dinner took a carriage for Quincy which is 5 miles west of here on the Northwestern R.R.
