Sep. 16 Thursday Off Labrador
Early this morning I woke up to find the boat standing still waiting for the fog to clear away. When it did so we found our position to be about pm 11-40 miles south of Turnaville. When this was discovered it was decided not to return to Turnaville for the mail.
Another case of poor seamanship.
On observing my finger it was seen to have given forth much pain from the piece of the finger. However, the snake bite may close up soon. The inside of the finger is dry and sore.
I spent most of the day in the bunk due to the pitching of the vessel.
Today we see first signs of civilization.
