The Atane cemetery is on the top of a low, partly dome shaped hill on the western slope of land in the valley of the Lugsinassail. Here more than eleven grave domes seen all built of arches from the adjacent strata. The bodies are laid somewhat flat upon account of the short men of the grave upon the old surface.
The arches are then piled around and cover over the body. Mrs. Atkinson opened a number and extracted seven skulls. Mr. White has taken two photos and this is one.
The recent flora is taking on the rich colors of autumn. The beach has a deep scarlet color, the crow berry a pink while the willows are green or yellows. All the smaller plants show some change in that life is disappearing while the tips of the leaves are turning with yellow or red. During the past week it has rizen almost every night and yet the blue bell the pink flowers, two white flowered plants both the chick weed seem to flourish. The fully maturing flower of the blue bells shrivel from front while the faint flower become a whitest blue.
