Corner of the Beach Wednesday August 27 - 1930 On the Pierce Road south of the Corner and just S of the English Church just before coming to a fork is an outcrop of the red conglomerate Baspe Sandstone. It stands almost on end, at M 80° and dipping N.E. Strike N.W. W. One but have in general made their way down here to W. feet of it about 250'. Just in the lower part of the Baspe SS. West is a little hollow 30' across pretty much the same shale as the next division. [This is of the Whitchead fm.] Then dark blue shale, 25' seen. It is the same shale above the ls of the Richmondian, and seen at Grand Coupe. Then crumpled very light blue or light grey yellowish breathing thin bedded ls and sl. Dip about 10° N.W Strike about N. 20° W. About 100' is exposed on the north side of the road and beside the fork. The only good lff in place is an entire trilobite. In the fork found several slots full of fm's yielding Catagazza, Dalmunella, Smutzella etc. On the south side of the road there is 50' of the same beds exposed and less clear 30' mine. [= Whitchead and Canneids Rocks] Between these two formations is the great fault, dropping the Baspe SS to the N., and cutting out all of the Lower Devonian (Cant. Joli and Pierce series). On the Pierce road 1/2 miles from the Corner the road [=Canne de Rocks] cutting exposes (the red sl of the Devonian) and the contorted Richmond of the Cape Cameron type. ``` `north` of the `up place` at least
