Dear Henry, Dec. 22 -1927
Thursday.
Left New Haven at 8. A. M. for New York.
First call on Doctor Timmins on 54 St. E., and from there to Brooklyn to see the Braun Crinoids. At four P.M.
I will start for Cincinnati over the Penn. R. R. to get here Friday morning at 9.30.
Called on Doctor Timmins and he assured me that my general bodily condition was good, excepting the gas condition of my alimentary tract. This can be remedied by eating less and less solid foods than I now eat plus more open bowel and more exercise. After I settle down after the Nashville Meetings I will get the truth once.
Then called on Doctor Kimpton to have my colon cleaned out. He pumped me and put a quart of water, and finally I discharged considerable mucous in albuminous matter.
Then went over to the Brooklyn Museum to see the Braun Collection of Crinoids. To my surprise all are boxed and have been or since their arrival more than 20 years ago. There are now 32 large boxes and the whole lot must around four tons. Two jackasses were pulled out and appeared to have our labels, and none Trenton sleets of any particular value. I will have to be very careful that I do not purchase a cat in a bag. The crates here in Mr. England.
