7/26/02 The Paleosol level has channels of white arkosic lithomitic coarse to grit sized clasts interbedded w/ soilified clays. There are limonite spherule horizons also present in the sand channels. At least 4 paleosols were observed in the 10-15 m. of the Paleosol zone { Kirk just got a reading on of ~43,000 on a paleosol in Brazil which would give a minimum duration of 160,000 yrs for the zone. In typical paleosol fashion the paleosol lower body bleeds down into the D2 lignitic sequence below. The lignites sometimes have silcrete crusts but resist the oxidation, bUT however the clastic
