Oct 21 - Liverpool. The day opens without rain but the smoke of the city is so thick that one sees little of a clear sun. Walled around a little and town to the hotel to make my de- parture for the ship. Left the dock at 2.20 P.M. As we go out the Cedric and Southland put in to take on passen- gers. My room mate is a young doctor Mr. May of Northam Ormesby. Oct 22 Irish Sea etc This morning at 10 A.M. we go into Queenstown harbor in the southeastern Irish coast. At so. 40 we leave and pass the Cedric coming in. There is considerable sea and very rough and then the same as
