2 May Wednesday, B. colnivor 68 51. Jan - 10° R = ca +10° F (9.5°) Passed a less uncomfortable night than before. Kolostengway in while I was hav- ing my coffee to ask for still more things, just as Marc said about the last desiries time for me to go ! Have given the men what I could from here calc to Kolostengway - sleeping bags + cans. pr karsti took too skin, pr Kamils, blanket shirt, to Ge- mendal snowshoes, to Tanchiniguay, skitch Hain. At 8.30 left house (gave each ser- vent 50 bre) and down afterwards was a way on Abel's sledge after saying goodbye to everyone. Stopped in front of igloos for a few minutes + ca nine o clock we were off in earnest, Abel + Katja with sledges and loads. Good going along the trail but rather hard away from it. Some good scenery - Reach- ed Toosuk about 2 p.m. and had quite a reception. The school master (65 yrs old) invited me to his house where I had coffee, bread + butter + cold boiled meat. I had some money ready to give him when his son's wife occupy- ing the other end of the house pressed off- ice on me so I accepted all as his hospitality. Then I was invited over to another igloo where I had more coffee and some good baking powder.
