May - Tuesday - B. calm - 67
warm in sun but rather
nippy in the shade - all day
a beautiful May Day. Hope for as
good a day tomorrow. Arrange-
ments made for Abel to take me
to Upernavik + he + Kahpa will be on
hand to start from here about 8 am.
Coffee + bread + butter at 8 this am.
Coffee again about 11. Lunchon or
dinner about 12:30, barley soup
with raisins + prunes in it - ham-
bruger steak of lean meat, coffee.
supper at 6-30, baked seal meat,
cheese bread + butter a bit of slided
smoked ham tea.
I went hunting in my Mel-
ville Bay undershirt this morn-
ing and got 2.6 doing well?
No wonder I had to scratch.
Did not sleep very well last night
under the feather cover on the sofa
in the parlor office, missed my
sleeping bag and the fresh cold
air of the tent on the ice.
glad I am not to stay here any
longer. Nielsen + his wife are hos-
pitable but he speaks English very
poorly and she not at all. I speak
no Danish and very little.
