pretty warm work in my Bernstein hat but the light N.E wind was very near to face me way back to the igloo. the fresh lean meat are one-boiled by the reindeer has good flavor, much like beef - a very different thing from that cooked by natives or just at 4 o'clock the sky is clearing and a gentle wind is coming from the N.W. and it looks as if we might perhaps start around tomorrow. I hope that we may for I have just finished "Henry Esmond" and have nothing to read or todo. Fortunately Kolovinkway seems as desirous to proceed as I am. at 6 o'clock E & J came in, the lads, saying that it was going to be a cold night - K said later "not well" the rocks surrounding Toolee's camps are dark gray banded feld spathic gneiss. Some narrow steep steep-walled gorges indicate the presence of trap dikes but they were almost filled with snow and I did not see the rocks. gave Ahpelaka wife a sewing needles and afterwards at Kolovinkway's (!) suggestion 2 yards of thread & some tea. The igloo is burning, almost, gave Toolee's'oop wife cake of soap
