making a thick soup of wh. the interior is very fond - It is good too, but I took my alittle, being too full of meat for more - K says that the new ice will be good in three days, but that there are holes in it - I guess that the ship is not given up yet. I think that K would not have brought all the things from the cache, had he been meaning to turn back from here after the report brought in from yesterday's scouting trip - Well I have plenty of time and we have a good supply of biscuit, kerosene and tea and pemmican, and there are seals in the water - Captain Monday 13 - calm. B'f. over by 80 & t we are going on - K & I led the way at 10-30 starting out on the service near camp - Advance 4 1/2 mile when K decided to leave it, much to my relief for my head had been in my throat much of the time - I can't say that I like riding ice that bends under the sledge. Then came a mile or so of snow shoving for me & being going fast.
