Kolotenyway got tangled up in traces and
[illegible]
Rounded Cape York at 6 p.m., stopped
ten minutes or so while K. went up
into a terrace 30 ft above sea to visit the
grave of his grandmother, who is buried
there.
Reached Igloos at 6:20 -
Ahngyelots + Oogrial + families here.
Opened up Ahnggodibloasoq's igloo
for our accommodation - Not much
food here, but got beef meal for dogs
and chunks of bear meat for ourselves
in exchange for two tins pemmican
given Ahnggodibloasoq at Oonana.
7 April - Hazy day and considerable
wind outside. Kolotenyway says:
Perhaps we can go on tomorrow.
Slept well last night - We came down
from Oonana in 4 1/2 hours of driving
without allowing for stops to entangle
traces and rest the dogs -
Kolotenyway has gone after some Kaminik
grass - Not much meat here but we
have gotten the chunks of bear meat and
the dog feed (1/2 seal) that Ahnggodib
bloasoq said he could have in exchange
for the two tins pemmican I gave him.
