South of mountain we walled through
some deep snow and at 1.30 a m. we passed
a small red rock set up on a large board

of trail. This must be fully 2,000 feet
above the sea. Forward southeast - a
magnificent view is presented along
Lake Tasersnute, which is 15 miles long
by 2-3 miles wide and flanked by
great mountains & precipices, the ice-
capped ice cap rising in distant back.
