AIN - 50-40 south side of Van Bibber 1) Main clay bed - end of hogback south of Van Bibber Creek. 3 little beds above main bed present. Main bed under out - Stops against fault - beds displaced 10 feet. 081' bentonite at base of main clay. Bottom of ss surface like Verdos 2) Base of first sandstone, fine grained to silty, somewhat platy, gray and brown weathering sandstone with carbonaceous material. Porcelanite present at top of second shale. White weathering, gray when fresh - slightly silty. Second shale 8'-10' thick with prominent 10' ledge of second sandstone below 3) Disconformity - 30-40', third ss above ss above bedded + brown weathering - typical whitish weathering friable little below. Actual disconformity in shaly siltstone between sandstones. partly obscured 4) Very good place to get section of main clay + 3 little beds 5) Lower bentonite of third shale, 6.8' from top of third ss. Third ss holding up

ridge at this point. 6 Base of first sandstone with bentonite clay second shale as in (2). 7 Lytle - Morrison contact. Medium grained, hard to friable, iron spotted, tan ss. with clay pellet bands, resting on green claystone. 8 Disconformity? White fine grained friable sandstone below brown platy ss beds. 9 Base of main clay bed with bentonite 3 little beds above still present - possible section just south. To the north clay bed not mined except at north end and 1/2 solid strip on photograph. There clay only mined from below. 10 Dakota - Graneros contact - (Trans. in Dakota) 11 Base of Lytle as in # 7 12 Base of Morrison? See sample 13 Base of first sandstone (bentonite as in 2) strike NAO W, dip 50 E 14 Lower split off main bed - not mined 2.

15 disconformity - as in 3 16 base of Lytle - Coarse conglomerate 10'-15' chert & quartz pebble. Exists locally only. Other places ss on greenish claystone 17 Sandstone as in (12) - base of Morrison ?) On the Golden Fire Brick end D hogback, strike fault between 1st & 3rd sandstones cuts out part of 1st sandstone 2nd shale 2nd sandstone. Both 3rd & 4th shales mined here in addition to the main bed + Graneros. AIN -50-40 - north of Van Bibber 3. 18 Disconformity - not visible but somewhere in 20' gap between Lytle ss & 2nd ss. Loose wt. sand wash above resistant Lytle outcrop (found later to North in Mine entry - ss on ss) base of second sandstone w/ white weathering with ironstains, SS fine grained & even bedded. Strike N/130° di/43°E ridge former 19- base of 1st ss with little shale between it & 2nd ss. 20 Lower bentonite of third shale. Silty porcelain 21 disconformity - ironstained, brown-weathering platy fine grained ss above + white, bedded friable ss below (recheck no. 18) 3.

22 base of number one sand bentonite below sand mostly obscured. see 19 N50; 47E 23 base of number one sand 24 base of main clay with bentonite at base red line on photo not 1st sand but 2nd 25 Sandstone over little three - finegrained massive 2 foot bed - iron weathering. a fault offsets hwy back at Van Bibber Creek about 30'. strike N35E 26 Base of main clay with bentonite as in 24 clay dirty with irony zones 27 Base of sandstone above little three.

AIN-51-28 1. base of Lytle - chart conglomerate with medium grained white weathering ss. above - base not exposed 2. Main clay bed - too iron to be mined lower split mined however 3. disconformity - entrance of mine shaft. (Shaft good for section) sandstone on sand (friable) 4. second shale (?) mined - 2" flinty bed at top, benderite (?)

Center lake sqduct cut thru Rabbit Mt. Top, at Discont., base 3rd SS, measured down Disconformity A 2.0-3.0 Argillaceous siltstone, yellow weather grades to interval below B 17.0 Argillaceous siltstone and silty claystone. Light gray to greenish gray with yellow weather stains. This unit thins laterally where SS thickens C 7.5-8.0 Sandstone, fine to medium grained massive, light gray, x bedded. Weak Fe brown. Thickens in cut to almost 20' at expense of interval above. D. 7.0 Interbedded fine gr SS and silty greenish clay. Sample I is from the clay. Laterally clays thin and SS coalesce, then SS out and it goes into clay. E 7.0 Sandstone as in C., it thens out w/cut into vericagted red/purple comes in again's side above red joint where F 14.0 purple claystone silty clay + gravel, siltstn. A thickness guess G. At least Green gravel, siltstone + clay, 25' exposed yellow stain, grading down to deepest cut into vericagted purple beds * only brick-red zone in cut. 8.

then deep red-purple. Laterally this SS lens at portal comes in in upper part this zone. Reaches 15', possibly some SS from above red gone added to it. Is true to course cql, white clean SS, locally aquifer. Posts on green and purple beds. See pictures. Sample 2 is green beneath this lens Colors - Purple beds Range from 5RP 4/2 - 5P1/2 4/2 5RP 3/2 and 5P1/2 3/2, with mottling of 5R 4/2 5R3/2 Center Left- on road to olum - Sample 1 siltston between 0 & 1.5 below disconct. Sample 2 between 1.2 and 2.5 below. 9.
