Note -- upper part of 2nd shale with bentonite-like clay is cutout. Up clip the 1st SS goes into slope and the SS above main clay (in locally) forms rimrock. Between bottom of section & 3rd SS beds thicker than at N end this hogback but no complete section. 2nd SS in, typically soft, silty yellow to yellow brown wezth, with shaly siltst. ptngs. (6) Section down from top 3rd SS 52.0 Sandstone, fine gr. even-bedded x 12in, locally X-bedded, brown wezth. - Breaks in cliff at 25 and 30 ft from top where argill + silty zones occur. 17.8 Shaly zone, all bot basal 2' obscured by slope wash. Beds shun basal 2' with lowermost 6" becoming grey, silty with interbeds of silt, basal silt has Fe stain. Thin siltstone bed in with silty clay under, only bl. shale above, silty clsty gets Fe pink. Discont under thin siltstone bed, about 4" from base (7) Continuation of section #6. From top massive SS below discont 37.0 Sandstone, massive cross bedded, fine to coarse gr pts. light grey wezth, yellowish to yellow brn. cgl as layers + beds in lower 20 ft. chert & quartz pebbles up to 3" diam. 38
