Resume of geology between Dutch Cr. & Massey draw:-
Exposures on west face poor except at the two peel-back areas along rim, where most ss. units can be identified. Even here the 2, 3 and other shales & claystones can't be sectioned. As result no measured sections.
Lytle consists of 2 beaches, both coltc. ss.
at the "peeled" areas two swales in rim.
Lower up to 40' & locally coalesces with upper. Still red wash beneath base lowest ss exposed. Upper ss bench 10 to 15' on average
Disconformity obscured, apparently in a soft zone.
Third ss varies in thickness, exposed chiefly in & adjacent to swale areas. Max thickness exposed about 20', may be additional soft beds locally.
Third shale obscured by wash. Its lower bentonitic clay crops out locally in swale areas.
Second ss. - its position, character & thickness obscure. (See A1N-49-06, 13) p. 11.
Second shale - no good exposures, platy bed under 1st ss is persistent.
First sandstone - at both Dutch Cr & Massey draw ends of hogback is combined with ss above and main clay bed is absent. At Massey
