Resume'- Clays south of South Platte River. Main bed: Begins to come in at end hogback N. of South Platte, but largely silty. South of Platte bed is in and out [see maps] In general, clay contains considerably more siltstn. than in other mining area near golden. Is characterized by middle silty part (see sections of it from Verdos section south.) Probably would not be exploited in this area were it not for other clays associated with it.
