B.O.V. 33-83 (1) clay bed (main) in here 6 to 8' silty layers, basal beautonitic clay present. Thins to south and by (2) one of small beds is in over it as base Dakota climbs (2) 3 clay beds in slope. Main bed on ridge side then one of clays above it in locally up to 5' thick. Dk ss above at thinning, Dk clay in locally over ss here. Looking across gap seen that Dk ss cuts down & all but pinches out main clay, while Dk. clay is quite thick & obviously lenticular (See Kozachowic. NOTE RE DISCOUNT Helmer section - Disconf in sloly gap below, 3rd ss & 1st [illegible] ss. 3rd ss thin here (see sect.) (4) Old quarry S of Helmer grp. Section up from base main bed, surface of which exposed over bed area & beautifully ripple marked. N 20 W, 65 E (measuring up) A 0.2 Beautonitic clay B 3.6 Clay, silty with thin interbeds silt. C 40.0 Sandstone, massive x bed & alam, fine gr. browneth D 9.0 Interbedded fine grss in beds 0.1 to 0.8 thick, and plastic silty clay with, finely silty, with some layers & 1 B's silt. Carb matter in some layers almost lignitic clay. Upper 3.8 to 4' mostly pl. clay with .8 to 1.0 cfp of platy siltstone and fine ss. 64
