Seattle, Washington, Sunday March 6
Dark morning but by noon the sun
shone.
Took a short morning walk and then read
until noon. After lunch took a car to Vol-
utier Park to get a broad view of the environs.
Seattle is built on several hills all separated
by marine crests ways. The Capitol is on one
of the highest, and the State University is se-
veral miles to the north of the center of Seattle.
The town architecture is pleasing of peculiar
high colors and considerable streets.
Spent the evening at the City Library, the
day spent me on the whole West Coast by far.
Los Angeles has a larger building but has
not the books and magazines of this library
of Seattle.
