Palegrie. Finally he called me if he had made matters clear, and I practically told him that his style and enthusiasm did all present matters in the best form. He took all in good spirit, though he naturally wants objections and makes his impetuous make up drew me out all the more to talk one into his views. At noon Clark got 12 of the Geological Department together for lunch at the Faculty Club. Lawson and I were the old men, Head of middle age, and two rest young men only instructors. Lindelbach and Cecels were also present. Then went to the top of the Caponville in front of the bed. Hall (= Baem Hall). Descended down to see the Invertebrate and Vertebrate Fossil Collections. They have in the various places very large collections and especially of the Cenogric formations. Called on President Camphire the afternoon
