Shreveport, La Jan 4 Tuesday After breakfast packed up, and then called on Mr. J.L. Dry of the Palmer Corporation. Recites on separate sheet. Had lunch with Spooner, Teas, and others. C.L. Moody of Ohio City was present, is a graduate of Univ. of Cal. and a critic of work in geology. Then visited my home with Spooner, when I went back to the hotel to get ready for the evening lecture. At 9:30 P.M. lectured in City Hall in a small room to about 40 school girls in the Desert Day. Everyone was deeply interested, and about ten came forward to thank me for the lecture. Finished at 9:30 P.M. All my expenses and railway to Houston are paid for. At 10 P.M. I am in the sleeper and at 11 the train comes on to Houston, Texas.
