Washington, D.C. Dec 28 Friday Listened all day to papers before the B.S.A. The first one was by Laworn telling what the Research Council is doing, followed by a full account about the proposed Abstract Journal. Followed it by a resolution on- dorsing the project and appealing to those that dare to make the project possible. It was adop- ted by the Society. I then gave a paper showing that the Fox Hills lies into the Lance, this into the Lobo of the Fort Union and that the Lance and Lobo join eastward into the Cannon Ball marine. There- fore all these things are Cretaceous, and the true Mesozoic-Cenozoic boundary lies between the Fort Union and Basalt. In the afternoon I presented an abstract of Williams' paper on the geology of the Franklin Mts. Parks objected to Williams' conclusion about the arc system as ex- plained by him. Strome thinks there is no proof for Beltian deposits.
