6R8/79 7947 Almost in float block of IS, by stream. Should be examined carefully to see if really Alms. The sequence at South Bay is predominantly lacustrine or at least starved of clastics. The predominating sequence is SS - mudst cross strat. carb sh.- limm, marlst, to SS. Marlst freq follows the dep of SS. This is 1000 m at most, in thickness probably more like 3000 m. A very different facies of the Eureka Sound Fm if indeed it is at all, should probably be considered a separate Fm. Mac Mary say E.S is marine at S end of Wolf Valley.
