Sep. 9-93 Concluded to go to El Kader Down to see the collection of Judge Samuel Mundock. I was told he had some Stavig Fossils and an abundance of large slab of Asaphus gigant from the Trenton. I found however that he had no Stavig fossils and only four slabs of trilobites having any value. He would not part with either of these but promised when he asked again to Elgin (Ill) that he would not fail to send the government a good slab. I am to remind him of this promise. Left on the 7.30 P.M. train at St Louis Prairie du Chien for P. du Lac.
