From general appearance thought where col. to be same as C. lurida (17-5-38) but the less inflated, more slenderly tapering perigynia is distinctly 15-20 nerved (C. lurida 10 nerved). This dif fobious box without connecting nerves. Achene distinctly ovoid, being broadest almost at the top (in C. l - the rougher achene is broadest about the middle). Beak much more slender than ill BvB. 7-13-38 Scirpus linearis Michx G 194; BvBI 337 Fz will or near box. Green mid-rib of scales turns brown before they fall. Bristles 'veals, entangled, much longer than achene's desc. BvB not as ill. Otherwise BvBill very good. St slender triangular but not sharp as.
