G (206; BV/B II 618 FLV [7-24-38 Fr. ripe. Many plants young fr. have hops. 5-30-38 Geranium maculatum L. G 535; BV/B II + 37 fl. 5-30-38 Thalictrum dioicum L. G 450; BV/B II/120 FL♀ Stigmas almost 3mm long. 5-30-38 Ranunculus recurvatus Poir G397, BV/B II /// Fl. Receptacle glabrous v lobed lobes apparent even in fl. (thus differing from those in V.fl. 1937) but there seems no question ident acc. to lobes. Base not slightly bulbous but otherwise not at all like R. bulbosus. 5-30-38 Ranunculus acris L G 398; BV/B II /// Early fl. 5-30-38 Ranunculus A fl. at foot of lilac across drive from kitchen door v so possibly brought to Kilnwood with it from Mrs. Keen 14v more inches high. Lvs exactly like all BV/BI 113 & R. septentrionalis Poir (Also W.F. N.Y. Pl. 70). Lvs ± touched with purple at edges v quite purpled in sinususes. Root not collected. Peduncles grooved. Petalas (cf with R. acris) pale v def oblong (not "broadly obovate" G 39? for R.sept -), 11x5mm. Scale broadly deltoid 2mm long x 2+ mm wide. (R.acris has petals almost or quite covering back & petals.)
