(thus differing from those in V.fl. 1937) but there seems no question ident acc. to lobes. Base not slightly bulbous but otherwise not at all like R. bulbosus. 5-30-38 Ranunculus acris L G 398; BV/B II /// Early fl. 5-30-38 Ranunculus A fl. at foot of lilac across drive from kitchen door v so possibly brought to Kilnwood with it from Mrs. Keen 14v more inches high. Lvs exactly like all BV/BI 113 & R. septentrionalis Poir (Also W.F. N.Y. Pl. 70). Lvs ± touched with purple at edges v quite purpled in sinususes. Root not collected. Peduncles grooved. Petalas (cf with R. acris) pale v def oblong (not "broadly obovate" G 39? for R.sept -), 11x5mm. Scale broadly deltoid 2mm long x 2+ mm wide. (R.acris has petals almost or quite covering back & petals.)
