(lvs) near base & at and a smaller lf near or below the middle fl. 6-5-38 Hieracium florentinum All. G 873; BvB III 332 Fl. St 22 in high. General lobl like H. pratense except that lvs are glaucous and glabrous (stiff hairson edges at base, on mid rib beneath vs few on lower part of blade) lf looks v feels smooth, st also smoother in comparison with H. p- bearing fewer of the long, dark-based hairs and practically none of the starry dontentum (which is plentiful on H. p.). lfs shaped like H. p.- but smaller. 2 dom at below middle Fl. heads very like H. p. The one plant collected has no runners if it never develops runners it seems sure to be H. florentinum (not H. pratense because no stellate pubescence on lvs beneath). If runners are found later in season this may be F. floribundum or possibly a race of H. pratense [6-29-38 Numerous plants observed; one collected. Neatulous.
