Circle of bracts set. disco ray-flowered forming a footed cups. lobes rays & disk flowered (or ray without) dark purple spots varying size . Odor definite v rather like tar. Many plants (a. f.s.) less than 2 in high v simple. [6-10-39 Fr L.T Canyon. Seen frequently in many places since 4-24.] [6-25-39 Flvfls. Sorrento Rd, northern part of hills seems exactly the same except corolla purplish with no white.
