4-4-39 Baeria chrysoptoma F.V.M. var. gracilis Hall J1113; M561 Flu fs. Frequent bet. Crystal Pier & Lorlng St. Plants of various sizes, as brush-like spreading with leaves wider than 3-25. Achenes w/4 anura. Plant much less delicate looking than 3-20. (This makes R.B.K. still more suspicious that plant of 3-20 was this same Baeria w/leaves still thicker because of locus. 4-5-39 Lupinus succulentus Dougl. J521; M249 Fl. La-Tolla Shores in field. Stems very hollow. Narrow bracts rather conspicuous in buds. [4-16-39 Fluals fs. L.T. Country Club Heights. 4-6-39 Lastarriaea Chilensis Remy J295; M128 Blu adv. fr. Vacant lot near no. end of Causeway from Point St 2 in high. Exactly as desc. Druaxis at very base of plant fr now well advanced or ripe. Towards top fr & buds well enclosed. "Trichs" or filaments discernible as tiny bumps. 4-6-39 yellow Composite Some part of all flo ligules, few (3-4) in each head. Very slender annual to 5 min high, glabrous, scape. Leaf all basal, oblate or spatulate, entire or very obscurely toothed. Heads about 6mm overall. Achenes w/ plumose pappus. R.B.K. not sure she finds bracts on receptacle.
