3-25-39 Lupinus bicolor Lindl. var. microphyllus C.P. Smith J523; M249 FL vado, fr. Lake Elsinore, Riverside Co. 1305 ft. alt. (Ident by Mr G. See also 3-20-39) Plant looks exactly like 3-20 except whole more def. esp in fr. and leaf (rather sparsely) long ciliate on paper margin towards tip. (On 3-20 R.B.K. still finds no convincing traces of ciliation) 3-25-39 Baeria chrysothoma FvM var. gracilis Hell J1113; M561 Lake Elsinore. (Genus indicated by Mr G. who called attention to "Gold Fields" frequently in trip. whether all same genus or species not stated.) (Cfd with Lasthenia) 3-20. Invol bracts? h. no more "curled into a hemispheric cup" (at 3) than in B. nor are teeth "acuminate". 4 others (?) have pappus (2awns) exactly like that of B. (4 awns) "from narrow paleae". Since Mr G ident was from casual ins- pection only, not study, R.B.K still queries ident. of 3-20 specimen [See 4-4-39] 3-25-39 Gilia multicaulis Bentl J796; M394 FL.
