8-8-39 Isocoma veneta Greene var. vernonioides Teps 1029: Aploaapaus venetus Blake var. " Muny M522 Flv fs. Very common, collected in several places v seen everywhere from vacant lots & Pacific Beach around Three Mosento Route 395 across Kearny Mesa. Invol sometimes gummy to lovely; sometimes not. Tips of bracts sometimes square, sometimes not. Inv often to 2 cm long and entire or with few obscure teeth near apex. But in one locus (Kearny Mesa) low to 3.5 cm long with very distant spreading teeth from apex to base. Plants usually glabrous but in one locus (Kearny Mesa slightly east & Marine Rifle Range) also v hirsute. Cottony coughle enough to make a grayish-dusty effect and inv slightly lealy. St all erect v defensibly. R.R.K can not find place for any of these among the other varieties of A. venetus in Muny. The essentials of fl-heads and parts are same in all tho height of invol varies from 6-10 mm. 8-8-39 Chryaopsis villosa Nutt var. J 1035; M518 Fl v adv. fs. Pacific Beach on Riviera Frontera St (conway to Causeway). Invol v hirsute abundantly supplied with sessile cloth stalked glands and with strong v def odor & complex. Upper parts of st also glandular. St, Inv, invol hispid-hirsute. Branches stiffly erect. Inv erect v completely clothing branches, Heads sessile v slightly closing, ruffled edges. Heads few, cymae-
