St, lvs vinol hoary, lvs linear. Tips of bracts spreading formulate (at least conspicuous vs utata all appear) Bracts have no glands. (See 6-14-39 for ? var incana) Cfd with C. from fields at Crown Point 8-4-39. (very likely same spec as 6-14.) Difference in bracts invol. striking! 7-28-39 ?? Artemisia dracunculoides Pursh M575 See A. dracunculus d, T1142s. Bud. Sorrento Rd in hills But too young to be sure this is A. but general effect correct. If so this is only poss. in M. (No lower 3-clefs collected?) Olor faintly hyspericine-ise not like the plants thought to be A. tridentata Nutt var angustifolia Gray (see under 2-25-39) in same vicinity [8-4-39 labeld spec(fresh)] seen at Nat Hist Museum. 7-28-39 Gnaphalium beneolens Davidson T1068; M542 Bud. Near above. Herbage permanently somewhat with "greenish-yellow cast." Inv too withered for study but allor st. narrowly linear, not decurrent (see T pro and M contra). St fine tall, slender with slender branches from base to tip making elongated panicle. Buds ob lanceolate to narrow ovate, sharply pointed at tip. Bracts white (slight greenish or ?yellowish fringe)
