Sigur has planted wild Tur in the Guadalupe's, about 2 years ago, taken from the White Mountains. He say that the real western wild Turkey will disappear into the country where liberated take care of itself. But th Eastern Turkey, which, is no longer a clear strain, but mi domestic cannot take care itself in our Western Mountain. A dozen Eastern Turkey were liberated in the mts. of norther New Mexico a few years ago, & th first night, the coyote got 9, and the remaining 3 the following night. Mexican Tur perch in Yellow Pines, & Sigur has never seen them out of Pi e country. He does not think they would thrive in Mesa Verde.
