connecting the two sections, The building all had an old weather appearance & seemed very ancient. They were Spanish design made of mortar with tiled roofs. Many churches or cathedrals could be seen there buildings are said to be more numerous here than even in Brazil as this is the city is the ecclesial head of the country. The port or Town is on the north shore of the giant bay which is 40 miles across with low shores backed by forested & well cultivated country. Fishing boats with lateen & sail were numerous in the bay.
