WED. 1. Ther. Weather, Fine
Left camp early and crossed
the ridge and continued
down to the Bear creek
road to Burns. Camped
early on Camp Creek
and warmed some
fossil Reeds. Found a
skull of a tapir or similar
animal & Mr. Bunley
dug it out.
THUR. 2. Ther. Weather,
Continued on the Bear creek
road toward Burns.
Camped early, on 16 mile
Creek and put out our
traps. Shot some Baby.
FRI. 3. Ther. Weather,
Left camp about 8. Killed a
shoveller duck after going
a few miles. Shot a chyote
and chased him a short
distance. Made camp after
gring about 16 miles and
put out some traps. near
Ducks Creek
JULY, 1896.
SAT. 4. Ther. Weather, Clear.
Left camp early and
rode all day. Had lunch
at Silver Creek. Made about
30 miles. Saw Ravens
& Sage Grouse. Shot a
widgeon
SUN. 5. Ther. Weather,
Left early and got nearly
to Burns at noon and
Camped. Made over 20
miles. Camped by a warm
spring on the border of
a marsh. Rain but
so not feel very well.
MON. 6. Ther. Weather,
Barry went to town & got
mail & supplies. Saw a cat
& Black billed Tit. Also
Black turn neck. Melons
Phalorope Blue winged teal
Sand hill Crane etc.
