April 22 Spent nearly all day hunting for suitable places to trap and setting traps Caught no woodrats nor could I find any good places to set more traps Shot a few birds and Spermophiles Apr 23. Tramped around nearly all day but with very poor success. Had all the small traps I had out stolen so my catch was almost nothing. Shot a few birds Apr 24. Drove down to Clarks Canyon about 10 miles to the south where I found numerous signs of Neotomas and set some traps Also set other traps in the valley of the Nistroma River. Apr 25 Visited my traps in Clarks Canyon and on the way and had quite a good catch including 5 neotomas & 1 other trap and changed the location of some already set. Did not get back until nearly dark. In the evening skinned some of the neotomas Taken.
